        Today, I am announcing my candidacy for the Tampa City Council District 2 seat. This is a citywide seat for the March 2023 election and it is open to all Tampa voters. Since 2015, you have allowed me the tremendous honor and opportunity to serve you as your city council member for District 6. We have accomplished so much together on this journey. As the proud son of a Cuban immigrant mother and Sicilian immigrant father, and first generation American, there is no better place to call home than Tampa. We are a family. Each of us is the unique ingredient, that together, creates the paella we call Tampa. Our rich history, our beautiful neighborhoods, and our incredible story, built by the hands of immigrants, the sacrifice of our mothers and fathers and grandparents, and with the love and sense of community that we know so well, makes Tampa the great city it is today. It has been the greatest honor to serve you for the last seven years on the Tampa City Council. As I first asked you to join me on this journey many years ago, I once again, humbly, ask for your support as I seek the Tampa City Council District 2 seat. Thank you. Gracias.
